38 TMC MLAs in touch with BJP; Maharashtra like situation chances in WB - Mithun Chakraborty
Warning a Maharashtra-like situation could happen in the West Bengal state any day, BJP leader & actor Mithun Chakraborty said, Over three dozen Bengal MLAs from the Trinamool Congress are in contact with the BJP.
Mithun has made this claim at a time when Mamta herself admitted that an attempt is being made to break her party.
Addressing a news conference at a BJP office in Kolkata, Chakraborty said, “Let me give you breaking news. Be ready for it. At this moment, 38 TMC MLAs are in touch with us. Among them, 21 are in direct contact with me. Now, I leave this to you for your consideration.”
The BJP inducted the actor to its fold last year ahead of the Bengal Assembly polls, in an attempt to win big in the state. Speaking about the BJP's "anti-Muslim" image, the actor said, "The three biggest stars of the country right now are Muslims - Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Amir Khan. How is that possible then? The BJP is in power in 18 states. How can their films make the biggest collections in these states if the BJP hates them or if Hindus don't love them?" he asked.
"I have reached where I am today because the Hindus, the Muslims and the Sikhs love me," he added.
